From Here To Japan: Happenings In California...

Thankfully the time went by pretty fast while Daddy was gone at ODS. I was a full time single parent and somedays I was just plain exhausted from the non stop "fun." Phillip was gone a lot during the 4 years of Dental School so I had been used to doing a lot on my own. Being completely spouse-less for 5 weeks definitely made me appreciate the extra hands and the tag-team efforts that we have. The consistent melt downs, the diaper changes, potty breaks, bath and bed time routines, running errands, the Orange County Fair, Sea World, swim lessons, park days, beach days, visiting family and friends occupied our time while Phillip was gone. The kids and I would have good days and bad days. Some days we just were all so exhausted mentally and physically. Other days we are so busy having fun I would forget that the kids should probably get to bed sometime before 10 PM.
Being in limbo with very little of our personal belongings, waiting for our departure to a foreign country has been very unsettling. I think we all feel homesick but for what home? We are homesick for our own space and most importantly for some sort of routine and familiarity again. We have been traveling and on the go for over two months now. Being on the road for so long with little kids can really take a toll on a family. Phillip came home late last night and it feels so great to have our family back together again. T-minus 7 days and we are on our way to JAPAN!!!
